Yellow Pokemon With Big Nose Blue Pokemon Thats Fat

Azurill (Japanese: ルリリ Ruriri) is a Normal / Fairy -type Baby Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Before Generation VI, it was a pure Normal type.

Biology

Physiology

Azurill appears to be a small blue mouse with a round water balloon attached to the end of its tail. Its balloon tail is blue and is used to bounce higher. It also has small ears and small feet. On its face, there are two white circles, giving an impression of blush. It can use the tail to bounce around.

Behavior

The ball is bouncy and packed with the nutrients it needs to be able to grow. The ball can also be used as a flotation device. It can be seen bouncing and playing on this rubbery tail. The tail can also be spun around like a lasso. When the tail is thrown, the body can go as far as 33 feet (10 meters). Though Azurill is typically docile, it swings the big ball on its tail to smash into opponents bigger than itself when angered.

Habitat

It lives at the water's edge, where they gather to splash around for fun on sunny days.

Natural abilities

Azurill can fling itself more than ten yards by spinning the large ball at the end of its tail and then throwing it.

Evolution

Azurill evolves into Marill with max Happiness.

Trivia

  • It is one of the only two baby Pokémon in the Generation III games. The other is Wynaut.
  • Prior to Generation VI, Azurill had a different gender ratio (1 male to 3 females) in comparison to its evolutions (1 male to 1 female). Thus there was a 1 in 3 chance that a female Azurill could evolve into a male Marill.
    • This was the only Pokémon to do this.

Origin

Azurill appears to be based on a small mouse combined with a beach ball. Its status as the Polka-Dot Pokémon may refer to the Japanese name of polka-dots, mizutama, which translates into "water balls". This may refer to its evolution into a Water -type Pokémon and the ball-like tail tip it sports.

Etymology

Azurill's name comes from the word azure (referring to its color) and rill (a small stream).
